Launching a mailbox

For some time now, I’ve been thinking about new ways to interact with the people who listen to berlindetoi.

I’ve tried a few things: meet-ups in Berlin, a French and German Christmas calendar, moving from a weekly to a monthly newsletter.

And then something became obvious to me. Writing letters felt like the most natural way to continue the conversation.

When I was a child, and still today, I loved reading women’s magazines. ELLE, in particular, has always been a reference for me. I would go through piles of old issues at my grandmother’s place just to read the letters sent by anonymous people, sharing very intimate parts of their lives: love, doubts, adulthood, desire.

After more than five years of hosting this podcast, I know that not everyone feels comfortable speaking into a microphone. Social media is rarely the right place to take time, to express something carefully, and to expect someone’s full attention.

But if you are building something meaningful, for yourself, or for others, it deserves space.

So I’m opening a mailbox.

A place for those who feel like writing about what they care about: 

• Your personal journey as you’re trying something.
• A project you are building or supporting.
• A person, a service, an idea that brightens life and deserves to be shared.

You can write in French, German or English.
Short or long, finished or unfinished, it’s up to you.

I don’t know yet where this will lead. Some letters may remain private. Some may inspire future episodes or special formats.

What I do know is that every letter will be read, and discretion will always be respected.
